 Zašto Halloween ili Noć vještica Dan Svih Svetih (1.11.) i Dušni dan (2.11.) danas su tradicionalni blagdani koji se obilježavaju svake godine. No, mnogima je sigurno zanimljivija noć s 31. listopada na 1. studenog, tj. Halloween, dan kod nas prozvan Noć vještica. Pa da vidimo... Zapalite svijećicu u bundevi i provjerite znate li zašto to uopće radite? U Sjedinjenim Državama danas se ljudi oblače u različite kostime, često one koji treba da zaplaše, i jedu mnogo slatkiša. Sve je to dio posebnog praznika nazvanog Halloween. Halloween je dobio ime po starom običaju u kršćanskom kalendaru – obilježavanja večeri uoči Dana svih svetih, ili u nekim zemljama Dana mrtvih. Ime Al Hallow s Eve, koje je u Ameriku stiglo sa Irskim i Škotskim doseljenicima, je vremenom skraćen u Haloween. Halloween se obilježava 31. oktobra, i u Americi je on danas više razlog za djecu i odrasle da svojom odjećom nastoje jedni druge zaplašiti. Medjutim, za trgovce je to novi značajan izvor zarade. Iz Nacionalne federacije trgovine na malo predvidjaju da će Amerikanci ove godine za Halloween potrošiti oko 3,3 milijarde dolara, oko 5 posto više nego lani. Promet je u američkim trgovinama jedino veći za Božić.  |
